Welcome All. I hope you enjoy your time on here.

I'm just kinda wondering how everyone found RochesterOutdoors.

Thanks for the welcome Wink I am split between brown trout (largest 6#), and walleye (largest 10#).

RE: How did you find RO?
RHW on Upper Midwest Outdoors mentioned I check out this site since I have been doing some fishing in the Rochester area and may soon be moving down.

Tyler emailed me with the details.

If I move down I will likely fish the UPLR. I fish a UPL event here in the cities last winter. Great tournaments and tons of fun.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

RE: How did you find RO?
Member that goes my the handle 'Slayer' happens to work for the same establishment I do and he kept telling me about this great local site.

So far I'm impressed and hope I can share a helpful tip or two that's been passed on to me....

My pursuit of the walleye started in the early 1960's. My Gramps had a place right next to Sportsman's Lodge on Lake of the Woods and he'd take me there almost every weekend during summer. Since then my fishing passion has taken me all over the Midwest in pursuit of that 30 inch wall hanger.

Nice website!

Kurt

RE: How did you find RO?
Called Wigwam to make Sturgeon Excursion reservations this morning (after seeing the post on the IDO site) and was told the cabins were mostly reserved already because the Rochester Outdoors group is up there the same weekend. Being that I was calling from Rochester thought I should check it out. Glad to have a local place to talk fishing.

My brother and I have gone up for five years now and my son has joined us the last three. Always a great time. And great memories to have with my son. Although last year was a long drive for a little time on the water.

RE: How did you find RO?
A few guys on the site have been going 4-5 years. I finally succumbed to their pictures and went last year. It was pretty rough with the wind, snow, and high water but I'm hooked and will be back this year.

We've had 70 degree weather and 20 degree weather. That's what keeps you going back, next year will be better weather! And if you catch a nice sturgeon you don't care how the weather is. Thanks for welcoming me to the site. I'll try to do more than just read others posts.

Welcome Bob. Great to have another Sturgie guy on here. This will be my 6th spring up there and I've been there once in the fall solely fishing for the dinos. Looking forward to bouncing ideas off another regular. How big is the HOG in your profile pic. Such an incredible fish.

57.5 inches. Hoping to top that 60" mark one of these years. Made last years shortened trip very worthwhile.
