Well lately I have been spending alot of time and money getting set up for pouring my own plastics. I'll say one thing....if your gonna do it right its not a cheap process. Molds can be relatively cheap at about $10-20 but those are for the silicone ones. Aluminum molds will run quite a bit more where the cheapest I have really found is around $50. The downside to the silicone is that over time it will wear down and you will have to buy new ones. Supposedly they are supposed to last for a thousand or so pours but only time will tell for me. I made the decision to purchase the silicone itself and am waiting for the arrival so that I can just make my own molds. The learning process isn't too bad....I watched a lot of videos on youtube and read quite a bit off lure making websites and forums. In my opinion I would prefer to pour plastics over lead but they may be because the options are endless when it comes to the plastics as to with lead you are more limited to what you can do. Anybody that is wanting to pour plastics is more than welcome to join me and enjoy some free plastics. Colors are limited til my next order arrives as are molds but I do have plaster that I have been using to make my own molds so far. Any pouring G2G's comin up Ty? Pics will be added soon of plastics I have been pouring

I have been having intermittent problems with my Lund boat and it's Suzuki motor randomly stopping. After trying many different things I could not determine what was happening. A couple weeks ago I took it into a local Rochester dealer who put it on the computer and told me there were “no error codes” registered in the engine. They wanted to take it to the river to drive it until it failed. I asked what they would do once it died and they said “look at the error codes”. I then informed them that they just told me it “does not have any error codes”. We went round and round on how they were going to debug this problem. I paid a nice fee to have them tell me nothing and left as I was not going to let them start replacing parts.

I then took my boat to S&M Marine in Oronoco. They had my boat for a week but were able to duplicated the random failure at the shop and then isolated it down to the fuel system in the boat. It turned out to be the internal gas tank withdrawal tube where it connects to the medal fitting that exits the tank. Air bubbles were getting sucked into the gas line. I know they spent many hours trying to find the cause, ordering the part, and fixing it.

I was very pleased with the skill level they demonstrated in isolating that intermittent problem. And their total labor charge was actually LESS than the first local dealer that put my engine on a computer for 5 minutes. I did take the boat out to Lake Zumbro and ran it for a few hours without any problems.

Below is a picture of the old withdrawal assembly, the pen points to where the air leak was occurring.

Going to put together a family friendly outing. Looking at August 29th, Oxbow Park (2nd picnic area on the left as you pull down county road 105 into Oxbow). Would be a late afternoon/evening event. I would plan on taking my kids down to the Zollman Zoo around 3ish and let them check that out until it closes at 4:00. Then head down to the picnic area and get set up with a grill or two, yard games, probably bring the fishing poles and some crawlers (the Zumbro river surrounds this picnic area on all sides but one). I would fire up the grills at 5:30. This is a nice big picnic area with a jungle gym set and swings for the kids, and a couple of covered eating areas, with restrooms. In the event that there is a chance of rain, I would probably still run it unless it is calling for an absolute downpour of rain. Again, we would have covered eating areas. Use of this area is FREE so anyone could come! I will see on getting some burgers, dogs, buns, chips, eating utensils for the event. If there is enough interest, I would also see about having plenty of crawlers for everyone to do some fishing! Anyone that is planning on coming would need to bring your own beverages. What kind of interest is there?? I would like to get somewhat of an estimate on people for food and such.

I think this would be a fun, family friendly event where there would be multiple things to do for the kids. Shore fishing, games, park equipment etc... It would be nice to possibly make this an annual event! Give me feedback here!
